Blessed are you when you smile at me for then I know I’m welcome.

Blessed are you when you look at me with love, for then I know I’m special.

Blessed are you when you wait for me, for then I know I belong.

Blessed are you when you walk with me in public places, for then I know you are proud of me.

Blessed are you when you ask me for help, for then I know I matter,

Blessed are you when you are gentle with me, for then I am sure I am loved.

Blessed are you when you believe in me, for then I know I am valued.

Blessed are you when you hold my hand. How else can I feel God’s compassion?

Text Box: This is the Web Site for the Croydon Catholic Deanery. The hope is that it will prove useful both for visitors to Croydon and for Croydon residents themselves. The site will be developed and expanded as needs become apparent.

Our aim has been to provide:
Directions on how to get to each of the thirteen Parish Churches in the Deanery as well as to the Polish Church and Community Centre in South Norwood,
Information about times of Masses etc. in each parish, including times of weekday Masses as well as some indication of the style of music to expect at each of the Masses,
Links to individual Parish Web Sites,
Information about Catholic Schools in the Deanery and links to their web sites,
Information about Deanery-wide provision for those who feel the need to use a language other than English.

Just as the London Borough of Croydon is up made of different areas - Purley, New Addiscombe, South Norwood, Waddon, etc., - sharing a common Borough Council and the services that council provides, so the Croydon Catholic Deanery consists of the thirteen Croydon Parishes potentially able to share the facilities and activities those parishes provide. The deanery is there for mutual support and co-operation between the parishes and for pastoral planning for the future. One of the thirteen Parish Priests, Canon Michael O’Dea, has been appointed by the Bishop to serve as the Dean of  Croydon. It is his job to chair regular meetings of the Croydon clergy and to act as an important link between them and the Bishop. It is the Dean’s job also to represent the interests of the Croydon Catholic Community at meetings of various agencies organised by Croydon Council.
