Catholic Schools
Catholic education in the UK is usually free. Places in Catholic schools are intended for children of Catholic parents although it is sometimes possible for children of other denominations or even of other faiths to be admitted, if there is room.
Each of the thirteen parishes has links to a Catholic Primary School accepting pupils up to the age of ten years. (To find out about these schools look in the information about the parish.) In the September after his/her eleventh birthday each pupil transfers to a Secondary School (which may well not be in the home parish). Parents are given the opportunity to indicate their choice of school.
There are five Catholic Secondary Schools within the London Borough of Croydon, three more only a short distance outside the Croydon boundary and others within reasonable travelling distance.
